I’ve had a long and suspicious vehicle history for someone who claims to be an enthusiast. Lots of beige family sedans, almost no performance versions of the few desirable cars that I have owned, and the like. And like anyone, there’s a few of my vehicles that I’ve liked more than others.
For reasons I can’t adequately explain, I’ve owned two 5-door Chevy Sprints. Both were silver, and both were manuals. They were tiny and they were slow. I loved them. There was just something so honest about them and at city speeds they were even fun. Most of these little runts have disappeared by now, which bums me out. I’d have a hard time saying no if I found one in working order. Especially if it were blue like the one in the picture. Plus, it would be fun to try to swap in the turbo engine, assuming you could still find one.
Which of your former vehicles would you like to get another crack at?

My 86 RX-7, and my 05 MR2.

if I could have an SRT-4 again, I’d do so in a heartbeat. But the chances of finding a decent one now are nil. They’ve either been trashed or modded to death.

My old Audo 200 20v quattro. It was just too old and too far gone when I got it as a broke college student. I do miss it so much though.

I’ve owned four vehicles, in order: 1997 Explorer Sport, 2011 M3, 2012 128i, 2009 328i. I’ve still got the M3 and the 328i, and I miss the Explorer because it was my first car and because of nostalgia . That said, every time I see a 128i, it makes me miss mine; seeing an explorer doesn’t conjure up the same emotions, so I guess I’d have to say 128i.

Ooh, I’ve always liked that generation. I can’t remember the last time I saw one though.
True story, in the 80s my dad once had a Commodore Amiga 500 computer and there was a paint program with it that had a pic of an RX7 as a demo image. So, what did I do? I changed it into a shooting brake. I was an Opponaut even then.

I don’t have a lot of good photos of it, but probably the Cadillac Fleetwood I had in college and shortly after. Though, I don’t know that I’d want that exact one again, most likely its been junked by now anyway, but I’d gladl y have another just like it.

Neon? Or Caliber? (I secretly love the Caliber SRT4)

A Cutlass Ciera with an iron duke, just for sentimental value. Probably rusted into the earth by now.

My 02 Protege 5. So rusty but I miss it.

I’m not a huge fan of Cadillacs, but I do love big floaty old- man cars. I approve.

My 01 Civic.
It started as a graduation present from my family. Eventually I swapped a K24 in it and sold it. The buyer offered stupid money for it, so I bought a new SUV with the money.
At the time, it was 05-06. Early into the 01-05 Civic K swaps. I was one of the first K swaps into a 7th gen(01-05) civic. Had alot of fun with that car and eventually I saw it on it’s way to the junkyard. Found out it was ass packed by a lifted truck.
I just remembering being on the group buy for the Hasport K swap mounts. All the wiring, figuring shit out and all that.

Oh God, the Iron Puke. I hated that engine, but to be fair it was in my very first car which was a Pontiac Phoenix. That thing was an abomination.
However, I did have a Chevy Celebrity and that was awesome. It had the equally-hated 2.8 V6, but I must have got a good one because it was bulletproof.

I’m so sad that yours wasn't able to be reliable. I loved that color and those seats were so cool.

That is a hard question, but my 54 Healey 100 was really special, my 85 RX7 was a fun, reliable, and surprisingly practical daily driver.

I rented one once and it was so much fun to drive.

The first Volvo wagon. I miss the massive turbo lag that kicked in after a few seconds. I also miss the wheelspin in the first few gears. And the in line 5 noises. A nd the seats. And the fuel economy. And the style. And the ability to drive with more than just myself.
I'd do bad things to have it back. But like... Without all the wallet destroying issues

My 1st gen Vibe. The only difference being it be manual.

The noise at high RPM is still etched in my mind (without an exhaust leak it is quite an interesting noise, just so mechanical and might blow up noise ). Red line was probably at 4 k.. Hated the 3 speed auto more.
Still find the 2.5 interesting just based on its simplicity and crudeness.

My old Legend coupe with the Type II engine was a supremely good car. I sold it not long after I acquired a 52 -mile/day commute, of which continuing to invest in doing with an aging, not particularly fuel efficient (albeit glorious to drive on the highway) car with a 165k on it and coming up some substantial maintenance didn’t make much sense. I wish I had been in a position to hang onto it as a third car just have around. I actually sold it some fellow staffers at the university, who bought it for their incoming freshman son. It is still around, and I last saw it a year or two ago, but it isn’t quite in the same shape it was when I had it. It now looks like an old car with a bunch of deferred maintenance that would never make financial sense to invest in.
I also deeply my miss my former E39. It was a gloriously good car, a tremedous highway commuter and road trip car, and handled better than anything that size had a right to. Everything about that car was just good. People still wax poetic over these for good reason. I sold it when the opportunity came up to buy a 93 LT1/6-speed vette with 55k on it. Again, I wish I had been in a position to keep this as a third car, or continue to use it as a commuter and had the vette for weekends.
This car is also still around. I saw it earlier this year, and it still look reasonably good five years later. It is, however, currently debased with some fake M badges.
The dude is still using my old sun shade that I threw in with the car, though. Depending on the degree of maintenance the dude has invested in over the last five year, I would consider owning this car again if it came up for sale. It did still have the same set of 200TW tires that I put on it, so it hasn’t covered a tremendous amount of miles since I sold it like five years ago.

Possibly the 2007 Focus Wagon I had. It was an insurance write off. It’s possible someone might have bought it and “rebuilt” it. The damage it had supposedly had included a bent rear subframe. But the only damage I saw was a bent in rear hatch door. I’m guessing it might have been repairable for someone with a shop and a love for manual Focus Wagons

A friend of mind also had a Cutlass Ciera... but his had the good-for-the-time 160hp 3.3L V6.

I really wanted a ZX5 hatch with a sunroof, but I was in some financial trouble at the time and it wasn't to be.

I know what a Caliber is :) I just refuse to acknowledge the existence of the SRT version. If the folks at Chrysler working on it hated it...

For me it’s a Volvo 240 but I already found and bought mine again this summer, so I guess doing the smart thing and buying one from the desert would be my answer. I’ve always wanted to do a fly and drive and I don’t think there are many better cars.

It was ridiculously comfortable, everything since has felt like a medieval oxcart in comparison, including Town Cars.

I had an manual 01 ZX3 that is at the top of the list of cars I never wish I got rid of. I gave it to a younger brother that needed a car and he put it in a ditch 6 weeks after . I wish he had called me as I probably would have drug it home and fixed it, but he just left it in the impound yard and told me a couple months later.

I really liked my wife’s ‘92 Accord Coupe - solid, great seats, ergo was perfect, good sized, handled really nice. 5spd manual was super nice . It could have used a bit more go, but maybe just drop the new 2.0 turbo in there and it’d be perfect.

I’d like my old W126, but I want it with 1/4 the miles and less age-related issues (rear main seal was slowly starting to go when I sold it):
I also sometimes have seller’s remorse about my W210 E55 AMG, been about 7 years now since I sold it on, time to get over it (but I won’t). It wasn’t perfect, but it was a fine car :

Probably one of these two:
After the first black car I said that I’d never get another, but I did.
However, I’d probably rather have a Miata of any vintage over any of the cars I’ve had before. They were nice and fit my life when I had them, but I’m a different person now and my priorities have changed.

I know the feeling. I look back on some of the cars and trucks I’ve owned, even some very good ones, but they were only something that fit my life at the time and that I would never own now.

Honestly, almost all of them.
My manual Renegade was a riot. A nd since it was leased, I didn’t do as much modifications as I wanted with it.
‘87 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. HYUUUUUGE. The one I owned had the two passenger doors not open from the outside, sunroof leaking, radio/cassette not functioning, burned all the oil, trans slipping, if you laid on the horn longer than three seconds the battery would start to die, gas gauge didnt work (filled up every 100 miles). If I could get one in pristine condition, I’d be so happy.
2005 Chrysler 300 Touring. This one would be perfect if it had a v8. It had the 3.5 V6, which wasn’t awful. It was colored Magnesium Pearl, that was only available for a few years.
